HYPOGLYCEMIC EFFECT OF SITAGLIPTIN AND AMINOGUANIDINE COMBINATION IN EXPERIMENTAL DIABETES MELLITUS

The aim of the work was to determine antidiabetic effect a sitagliptin and aminoguanidine combination in rats with experimental diabetes mellitus. Materials methods. study carried out on male Wistar C57BL/KsJ-db/db mice. According models used, it divided into 4 series, which alloxan, steroid-induced (dexamethasone) streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced mellitus (DM) were formed, respectively, rats, obese mice used. In 1 2 treatment started prophylactically – 3 h after alloxan administration simultaneously dexamethasone administration, 3rd 4th pathology had developed 7 days streptozotocin nicotinamide immediately their distribution according groups. (10 mg/kg), (25 or thereof. continued till end experiment, completed an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) fasting. obtained data subjected statistical processing. Results. course experiments, found that prophylactic combination, unlike each components, prevented development DM. More effectively than alone, reduced severity DM, expressed significantly lower level fasting glycemia (after fasting) postprandial (during OGTT). Under conditions studied slowed down progression pathology, mice, therapeutic its carbohydrate metabolism disorders (fasting glycemia) increased rate utilization. Conclusion. As iNOS blocker, enhances sitagliptin, preventing reducing DM when administered prophylactically. When therapeutically, reduces type predisposition obesity.
